Just over 2 weeks till the start of my NZ trip. Email sent.... and avery prompt reply received. Prices start from 550 NZD for a flight in the Harvard, working up to a cool 3250NZD for a flight in the Spitfire with the P40 coming at around 2500NZD. My biggest issue appears to be my weight The diet is going well but I fear I won't be in the weight limit by the time of my holiday Still, as I am a bit shy on the 3250NZ, I am waiting on an answer on the Harvard weight limit, so all is not lost. Get saving everyone! Pat

...for a Spitfire of P40 flight these prices are not over the top!, where else in the world could you possibly get a Spitfire flight!
Pat, what are the weight limits?, could be diet time for me also!

I did two separate flights with Trevor Bland in the P51D Mustang back in the 1990s, one of them from Auckland International (at the time of the big airshow there) and the other from Gisborne Airport and believe you me, going for a flight in a WWII fighter is one of the biggest thrills you will ever have. The Auckland flight cost me $1,000 at the time, and the Gisborne flight was a little bit cheaper. Of the two, the Gisborne flight was the more thrilling because we headed over into the Waimata Valley and got down to about treetop level heading up the river. Some of my mates thought I was mad on both occasions shelling out those sorts of dollars, but it was definitely worth it.

Well I've been for flights in the Trojan,Dak, Cat and Mustang. I was lucky enough to actually have a pole of the Trojan and do some aeros. But for me the Mustang was the highlight, especially because once again we did aeros, my pilot was the late Peter B. great bloke for sure. BUT it would have been even better if there was another stick in the back, as for cost $1000. And that was 13 years ago. Worth it ? to right it has to be on every aviations buffs bucket list. ;D

I didn't think they were over the top prices either but budget is budget for this holiday and that just pushes it over the top As for the weight limit, for the Spitfire it's 210lb. I know call me fat ;D I'm off beer and eating rabbit food and execising as well *wow* It's coming off but nowhere near quick enough

So...three weeks after the website was linked to, has anyone gone for - or even arranged - a flight with the team yet?

My partner, who has just extended her work contract for six months (and will gross the same as my annual salary in 9 months), has been asking very encouraging questions!
