Hi guys Can anyone help with information on a kitset of this flying boat? So far all I've found is the Contrail vac formed kitset. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Chris Attachments:

Cheers Bruce! I had come to the conclusion it would be. Now for my next question and I'm not sure here is the place to ask it but here goes. Does anyone know of or have one of these kits up for sale? I've got the bit between my teeth and I'd really like to start once I finish my 488 Squadron Mk30 night fighter. my thanks in advance for all your help guys.
Cheers Chris

These photographs of Alan Clark's 1/36 scale model may be of some assistance if you are interested in a scratch build. File size for some reason is very large, however the detail is rather good. www.eusebio.ch/IPMS/SIN3AC/Singapore3.htmCheers Gary

Hi Gary. You sure are right about the files sizes! Alan Clarke has for many years turned out the best scratch-built aircraft models I have ever seen, bar none.
Cheers, Pete M.

Ive built the Contrail vac form and its not too bad as far as Vac kits go. That will be your only kit option for a Singapore. Sorry to be pendantic but theres also the very accurate but impossible to find FROG/PENGUIN kit in 1/72nd scale from the 1930s one showed up in an antique shop in in greenlane a few years back....i was almost tempted to part with $400 to SILVER WINGS have been considering one for a couple of years tho

I was given a large box of modelling magazines today. The first one I opened (FineScale Modeller Dec 1994) had centre fold of Alan Clarks model. Three years to complete - that is commitment but why 1:36th? Sorry about the missing edges of the picture but it covers the full double page so difficult to scan.

That is such a gorgeous model of in my opinion a really gorgeous old aircraft. So graceful and classic.

Exactly twice the size of 1/72 so easy to scale off 1/72 plans? Maybe. Thanks for sharing that scan, its a superb model. Steve.
