I thought the same Zac when I saw all three parked on the airfield, just magic. They are so well built and are bascially an extension of the production line.

Gav, it was funny listening to Greg MacD talking with Huggy about them - "the nerve! These are American bolts! Someone ought to complain!" But seriously, I think it is a real tribute to TVAL that work of this calibre is happening in NZ. The attention to detail in these machines is truly stunning, real time capsule stuff. And in regards to essentially being late production, I couldn't agree more! Makes me all tingly to think about what could be next out of TVAL's workshops.....roll on 2009!

Anyone keen on the TVAL Se5s should grab a copy of Classic Wings issue 68 - lots of fantastic shots by Gav, as well as a pilot's eye view article by Gene de Marco.

Hi Zac!
I will come to NZ in march 2016 and I'd like to see this SE5A with the big "K" in real life because i'm a RC modeller and I was looking for a colour scheme to refresh/update my own old small (1,35m) SE5A. Can you tell me where it's possible to take more pictures of it when i'll be there? Thanks for your help.

Hi Stephane, You are lucky that there is a major Airshow in March 2016 - Warbirds Over Wanaka at Easter (25-27th) www.warbirdsoverwanaka.com/While TVAL (The Vintage Aviator Ltd) are likely to attend, it is unlikely that that particular SE5A will be one of the aircraft they will send. Hangar Tours of TVAL (Masterton) are available during weekends over summer (which will include March). Last summer they had flying weekends on the last weekend of each month, during which a few of their aircraft are flown (to help with pilot training). Only some of their aircraft are available for viewing during these weekends, it is random which ones they are! Take a look at the 'Airshows' sub-forum, there is a thread for each of these mini-events to give you an idea of what happens. TVAL haven't announced their plans for the coming summer, but we hope that something will happen in November, probably announced in October. Enjoy your visit!

Thank for the answer, Errol. Bad luck for me: the plane to bring me back to Belgium will take off on march 23... But be sure I will have a visit at Masterton's hangar!
