Nice shots. Was there much there on the static displays and tent displays or whatever?

Weather was not to bad at 3:45 as we drove past today and that would have been closing time or near to it? I am going on Saturday with my son and grandson so hope it is good. $15 for adults and $6 for kids. See you there?
Cheers PS I will bring my gumboots! ;D

Yes, Saturday is the public day. Nice shots Ykato Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to see some others. Nice to see my home airfield and people still going down for a look. Nice the weather let up for just a little while. Forecast for Saturday is a few showers with Westerlies. Hoping it will be a little better than that. Was going to fly down Saturday but after getting back in from MEL at 0600 doubt I will feel up to that. Maybe come down for a bit of a fly Saturday afternoon if anyone is about...

Just came back from Flair 2011, it was way better then i expected. The Red Checkers did a nice and polished performance. The Martin Jetpack was certainly interesting, gaining immense interest for major aviation companies such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Bell and many others, pity it didn't fly however.

Did the jetpack fly or was it static? At least the weater has been good, I finally got the lawn mowed after a week of rain.

As far as I was aware it was always going to be a static display with the Martin Jetpack 'flying' simulator. It was never intended for it to fly at Flair.

The jetpack Sim wasnt going today - The PC driving it died - probably due to water injestion in the swampy tents. If I was paying $100 per square meter to display my precision technical gadgets, I would expect to have a solid floor!
Not a big turnout today, and actually very little of interest. Spent a lot of time catching up with flying mates though, and talking aeroplane. My impression was that the organisation looked very poor and rushed, and I doubt whether the exhibitors got enough genuine interest to make it worth their time - certainly I didn't splash out and buy a PAC P750! Baked spuds were good though!

Got mumsy and gran coming over from Aus and going to show them around down there and have a fly if you keen on a cacth-up

Thoroughly enjoyed the day out with my son Norman and Grandson Jack. Much better than I expected although I thought the $15 entry was a bit steep? Warbirds open Day at $10 is very good value for money. Jack thought it was great! Red Checkers awesome as always! Cheers

the organisation looked very poor and rushed, I'd agree with that - in spades. I'd had a rough night, so was late getting away from WP. Not helped by quite a long hold before I could cross AA airspace. When I got to 10nm from Te Kowhai, I called Te Kowhai ground as per instructions. Could not get a clear answer, just garbled rubbish. Apparently I was not the only one, as I heard someone else clearly say 'good thing I filled the tanks before I flew over here today'. As far as I could determine, there was a bit of a formation flying display going on at that time. The chequers were also the radio at that time. No-one seemed to be in control. In the end, flagged it. Did a touch-and go at HM and went back home. Must have some sort of bug, or maybe old age is making me less tolerant of other people's incompetence. Had four hours sleep, watched the game on the box, then another nine hours kip and feel a bit better now.
