Had (another) great day. The overall quality of the re-enactments has noticeably improved over the years. Too hot! Again! Well done to the organisers and participants. Just one aviation shot for now, but several Vietnam ones added from here on.

We had a great day out, was a bit long leaving Whenuapai at 0745 and returning at 2015 after doing a display at Waitakere Stadium as part of a fireworks show. A bit like at Cambridge they underestimated the power of the mighty Seasprite to generate wind. While sitting in the door prior top being winched I saw parents hanging on the kids and all sorts of stuff being blown around, even a Pooh bear pillow. Heres a few shots from the day and it was great to finally see for myself this Cambridge Armistice thing Dave talks about. Cheers, Les. On the way down, flying toward the rising sun. Hanging out in Cambridge. In the cruise back to Auckland. At Waitakere Stadium About to drop in

Awesome shots of the winching there Les!
At the end of the day yesterday after we had been cleaning up for about two hours, around half the committee sat down to have a beer, and we chatted about the highlights of the weekend. The Seasprite was very high on the list of highlights, everyone was telling me how impressive it was to have there. We were very fortunate to have such an awesome machine and crew visit us. Thanks again to No. 6 Squadron.

It was my first visit to an Armistice at Cambridge and i was very impressed. I could only attend on the Saturday as I had other commitments for the Sunday so made the most of it. Arrived just a bit late to catch the Seasprite landing but it was great to see on take off. As a precaution I packed my cap away early and just as well as it nearly blow me over. Great to meet up with you Dave and the other members of the forum. Many thanks to all those that took part for a great days entertainment. Special shot for Errol. Where is that Tiger Moth? Ah there it is! More pics later. Cheers

Here are a couple of random photos from me. First up, the rocket launch - the first I have ever seen. By golly it was impressive, and a surprise to me to be honest as I was told it was to be a tiny one. The rocketeers did a switch last minute it seems. I'm just amazed I managed to get a reasonable shot of the lift off. Here is some photos from the model tent I took during setting up on the Friday. First up some of the modellers - Mike Aldridge (who writes for Scale Aircraft Modelling by the way), Dave Roberts (obscured), and Gary someone setting up their wonderful aeroplanes A very nice 1/48 Mitchell in Pacific colours with other nice models behind it This is a section of a very impressive blockhouse diorama. Not sure who modelled it, but more photos to come of it soon.

Super photos Colin!! I had not even realised that there were two Valentine tanks present. I only saw the rusty one.

Back to the models, here are two more 1/35th tanks in a different diorama. As the models were still being set up at this time some of the figures are fallen over during the transportation. I assume someone put them right. Here's a 1/35th Patton Tank And this was a really neat Vietnam diorama with a Huey with underslung load hovering above a camp. It's not an easy one to photograph but hopefully you'll get the idea. Closer up: And end on:

Didn't get much chance to take photos during the aerial displays. Bit busy. I did get one shot I liked of the large scale replica of the USS Missouri that was floating around. I reckon they could really add to these models by having smoke generators in the funnels. Electric motors are just too clean and quiet ...and here is one of the Bouncy Castle after it was pushed into the hedge by the downwash of the departing Seasprite.. BTW, Dave, the guy in the Yak-52 was Andrew Gormlie from Classic Flyers in Tauranga. The Yak he flew belongs to Pete Meadows (also from Classic Flyers in Tga). Next time you are in "The Bay" stop in at the museum cafe and treat yourself to a lunch... I enjoy sitting at the tables made from 44-gal avgas drums.

Awesome shots!
That model of the Missouri is really excellent, as are many of the r/c model ships they bring every year. I like the little men on the deck waving to the camera!
Interesting to see the bouncy castle that got bounced, I never noticed it getting blown away at the time. ;D
Those photos of the Tiger Moth are fantastic Colin, same goes for the Yak. Thanks for confirming it was Andrew flying it Evan, I wasn't sure if it was him. Cheers. Wasn't that model F-16 impressive. It sounded so real. I wanted to see it take off. It's a shame we didn't have the space for a flying display.
Did anyone get shots of the Me108?
