I spent some time in the past week doing some research in the Auckland Library, looking through some 1938-1939 editions of the Auckland Star newspaper. Along the way I discovered a number of interesting asides so I thought I'd add a few here.
Bear in mind these come from microfilm, and I have used a digital camera to photograph the display reader's screen, so they are not ideal.
Here is a Boeing Clipper being built (published 11 Feb 1938)
OUCH!! (published 10 Aug 1939)
Dave Allen - I thought people might for the dark colour of the Tiger Moth/Moth of interest (Published 12 Jan 1939)
This is a great photo of the poor Albatross (published 17 Sept 1938)
I wonder if this Condor was recovered, or if it is still there? (pub. 20 Jan 1939)
