Oh dear, two boo boo's in one night. you are of course correct, Dave. I rushed it and didn't notice the slimmer cowl. My own photos are not dated or captioned, so I do take a punt sometimes when I chuck stuff into the mix. Very glad to have plenty of expert historians to put me back on track.

So that's where -JML has gotten too. Was wondering what had happened to it since the skydiving operation at Mercer shut down.

That must be the CT4 that's supposed to be coming to Saudi Arabia in June to try for the Super Muhsak replacement contract

ZK-FXM was the one and only CT/4C, not a CT/4E. It was in reality NZ1940, and was borrowed by PAC to test the concept of a turboprop Airtrainer. Afetr some quite interesting tests it was converted back to CT/4B status and re-entered service. Care to shed some more light on those "interesting tests"? I heard a rumour that the C was able to exceed VNE in straight and level flight.

While searching Flight International's archives they mention the CT4 C's max speed as 435 to 444 kph (this could be what they expect rather that what was achieved)

The CFI of the Waikato Aero Club was telling me he took a Russian chief test pilot (out here for the PAC750XL deal) for a flight in the CT4E. He pronounced it a nice aircraft. Roger told me that the Russian pilot (Grigory?) was a superb pilot with very smooth and precise skills. That is high praise as it takes a lot to impress Roger. That must be them taxi-ing out in the photo above...
