Hi to all. Here's a batch of the P-51 photos I've scanned from the 'box'. Some we have seen published before in various books, but there's still a few I've not seen before. Front aircraft is NZ2411. Strangely, the picture I have of NZ2406 has the 6 marked out in the copy. It's clearly there in the same photo in Brendon Deere's book! Cheers, Pete M. ;D

Great shots!! I guess that second to last shotof the Whenuapai display might be one of the legendary Mike Daniells displays?

They certainly had a mixed bunch of markings didn't they? Some with the fin flash, some with roundels applied over the Star and bar but leaving the bar (similar to the Corsairs), some with roundels and no bar. I must get a copy of the RNZAF/RAAF Mustang History book and soak up all that Mustang goodness. Great photos! More please!! ;D

Great photos. Sad to see the end of NZ2430 there, after an engine failure at Ohakea.
I have been staring at the photo where you remark about bands or tape under the wings, but I cannot see anything. Where am I meant to be looking?

I think the bands or tape being referred to are actually the blur of the propeller tips.
