Anyone been watching this ?
Great series about Buffalo Airways on National Geographic channel Sunday nights. A struggling airline that flys DC-3s/4s, C-46's and Electras.
Showed a great one last night where a trainee Turkish pilot forgot to lower the undercart on a CL-215 Waterbomber and bellied it into the runway !!

Hell yeah! Been glued to the screen watching this show. You can't go wrong, old round engined transports(for the most part) tricky weather and of course the human element. Wish I was a bit younger I'd try to get a job on the maintenance side of it!

great show. Very strange the way the let someone who appears to have no type rating or formal training on a Part 121 aeroplane fly it and especially land it!

Good (if old) related article at www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2003/feb/01/weekend.deabirkettTo the end of the earth From Shackleton to Fiennes, explorers have been hailed for their derring-do. But for the pilots who are on call to resupply and sometimes rescue today's Arctic adventurers, acts of heroism are all in a day's work. I loved the Boss's reply to the new about the wheels up: "If you are going to drive a train make sure there's a track in front of you. If you are going to sail a boat make sure its in the water. If you are going to land a plane make sure the wheels are down!!"
