Very good news indeed, would have been terrible to see it go overseas. Also now they can continue to use real scenery instead of having to computer generate it.

The biggest concern I had was if it went abroad then it would pretty much put the kibosh on The Dambusters being made, and many other big films too. Plus the money for the local economy is very important too.

You cheeky sod. If I was going to have a part it wouldn't be as an extra, it would probably be behind the camera. But that is not going to happen either.

The government isnt going to have to "stump up" anything. They arent giving a lump of cash to Warner Bros. Its a Tax rebate. Its income that we wouldnt have received anyway if the Movie went off shore. Its just like any business offering a discount to a major client to ensure that they spend more money with them. The Government will actually make a huge net gain of something like 70 - 80 million as a fair chunk the money the Movie puts into the economy will eventually find its way to the tax man.

Dave - I'm sure that Beagle was referring to trying out as an extra for the Dambusters ;-) You could send PJ the pic of you in MOTATs Lanc. It is great news alright. The film industry in NZ can only go from strength to strength and hopefully the Dambusters will get made in the not too distant future!!

Ah, if that is what he meant that is not so bad. I thought he was saying I'm short and fat and hairy. I'm not hairy!
