Greetings to aviation enthusiasts and supporters.
Many of you will be aware that Mercer Airfield, developed by Jim and Libby Lyver, is currently for sale, with tenders closing on 16th December.
The prime objective of the Auckland Recreational Airparks Trust has always been, and will remain, the establishment of a centrally located airfield to replace Pikes Point as a home for the region's recreational aviation community. However we are very concerned that, unless positive action is quickly taken, the airstrip and facilities at Mercer could be irrevocably lost to aviation. We are therefore calling for expressions of interest from anyone interested in supporting its retention.
Please follow the link below to go to the Site Investigations section of the Trust's web site to learn about the property, some ideas on how you may be able to assist, and how to contact the Trust with your ideas. If you have a few minutes please read some of the rest of the information on the site, including how we were 'so near and yet so far' with an opportunity across the water from Pikes Point at Norana Ave Reserve.

We apologise if you receive this email more than once as it is being distributed through several mailing lists. You are receiving this copy via the Airparks Trust Supporters Group to which you signed up some time back. If you know anyone who may be interested but may not have received the email please forward it to them. We really do need everyone's help with this.
Thank you
