I think Garry Toulson and John Barr could also be referred to as early "pioneers" could they not Peter? Garry started in January 1950, Guy in March 1950 and John November 1950. Garry and John are both still with us. I'm not sure where you would draw the line at the end of the "pioneers" period.

Yes Dave, Garry (Ronald Garnett) Toulson passed away in Tustin, California 15th July aged 84. He started topdressing January 1950 and went on to form Adastra. The mighty Snow Commanders were a large part of the fleet. RIP Garry. I think John Barr would be the only 1950 "Pioneer" left? Graeme

Les Olsen just sent me the following message. Sad about Doug, he was a great chap.
"NZ 4214287 Douglas (Doug) Clark passed away suddenly aged 90 years on 25 June 2013 at Orewa. You interviewed Doug a couple of years back about his time spent on 10SU and 14SU. Doug grew up in Te Awamutu and initially joined the Waikato Regiment before transferring to the RNZAF where he trained as an LAC Armament Fitter. He served two tours in the Pacific.
#76734 Henry Tom Lewis passed away on 11 July 2013 at Ranfurly War Vets Home. Tom was an ex RAF Armourer (#701099) who joined the RNZAF and served at Ohakea and Auckland as an Armament Fitter and reached the rank of Flight Sergeant. He was aged 94."
