A large Japanese air attack against the Solomon Islands was tracked by No. 52 Radar Unit, RNZAF, at Guadalcanal. They directed Allied aircraft to intercept, and No. 14 Squadron RNZAF destroyed five enemy aircraft

No. 486 (NZ) Squadron commenced anti-V1 flying bomb patrols. They were based at Newchurch, Kent. Within a fortnight their score of V1's is over 90
