Thanks for the offer Stu. It would be good to have a confirmed ID for the Islander. Like the shots in the sunshine - something we have had very little of in the last 5 weeks here in the UK. Allen

Sorry for putting you wrong Allen, it's definately an Islander, is LYP airworthy at the moment? (anyone). I haven't seen REA for a while so thought it was that one.
Note that the earlier pictures of REA are from August 2011, so it's still possible, but I think that one has been sitting there for a couple of years at least.

It wasn't as busy as this when I visited at the beginning of February and took a shot of an Islander which was thought to be 'REA (see Aviation Photography) but it seems to be very healthy now. What then is the ID of the Islander I shot or has it made a remarkable recovery!? Allen Not sure what the ID is but I think it was still out there and in similar condition last weekend - I tend to recall it sitting there as I drove past but didn't pay much heed to it (often see disassembled aircraft in that area). Next time I go for a flight, I'll try and spot any rego on the side not visible from the road. Sorry, that's probably not much help. Maybe drop a line to Great Barrier Airlines? Cheers, Stu. Had a look at the aircraft as I taxied past on Saturday and couldn't see any markings or rego - there may be some somewhere but most of the paintwork seems to have been removed.

I can tell you that it is not ZK-LYP as LYP is currently registered A3-LYP and is in pieces undergoing repairs with Chathams Pacific in Tonga.
