After more than a quarter century of happy Harvard hunting, both these projects have found new homes. It became time for rationalisation and realism. We subdivided our property and with it the large shed. All private collectors have to ask the question at some point, "will I keep shovelling resources into this, and what's the ultimate goal?" Both have found good homes, a lot of the stuff I put into my first project ended up on 1077 and to support other projects. It was fun. We've gone from an F27, several Devon and Harvard projects, and a Link Trainer, to a collection of smaller items in a brand new, but smaller set-up. The Link Trainer my son Dan tidied up, I believe is destined for the NZ Warbirds Visitor Centre if not there already. Cheers.

Pete, You did your bit in preserving and retaining these machines. Who was it that said we just have temporary ownership. Just think what would have happened in a far less enlightened time.... off to the scrappies or worse, off overseas. Those have found good homes and you should be proud of that achievement.

Thanks for the update Peter. Great to hear the projects have good homes. As Ando says, you've done great stuff preserving these aeroplanes from a much worse fate. Not to forget all the work you did in setting up the Ashburton Aviation Museum too - we have a lot to thank you for.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Anyone who has had their hands dirty in this business knows the difference between having a dream, and realising one. It's a journey, - not a destination. I wouldn't have missed any of it for quids.

Do you still have the C-47 cockpit?

It has also found new love. Again to a good dry secure appreciative home, more complete than when I took it on.
