www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10750455A New Zealand Navy ship had to be towed back to the base at Devonport after an overheating problem yesterday morning. It is understood the stern gland seals on HMNZS Rotoiti overheated as the ship left Auckland. The ship's company responded immediately by shutting off the engines and the ship was towed to the naval base for repairs. There was no significant damage and the repairs should be completed by today when it would return to operations. A spokesman for the New Zealand Defence Force said a formal investigation would be undertaken to understand the cause of the problem. By Amelia Wade | Email Amelia

*sigh* Who the hell builds these boats?? Isnt there any pride in workmanship or something? This sort of nonsence seems to happen a lot and the result is that our hard-working and dedicated navy folks are made to look like chumps! GRRR
