Great to hear they are on the move again! Apparently NZ6202 is currently being prepared for shipping to MOTAT by the Safe Air guys.
I will definately be able to assist with photos of NZ6204 Owen. Email me at don.simms@xtra.co.nz and I will start emailing them to you.

It's a pity the wrangling has delayed the Skyhawk getting to MOTAT before they open their new hangar tomorrow.

The only way you get immediate attention from the World Police - sorry - State Dept is to mention Bomb and Obama in the same sentence oops

Now that several of the RNZAF Skyhawks have now been removed from storage and have gone on to public display where the experts have had a chance to look them over, I have a question:-
Given that we heard the officials saying that the aircraft were perfectly protected from the elements in the latex covering and that they could be made to fly again with minimal problems... and given the unofficial reports that they had suffered badly in the long term storage with water damage, etc... what is the verdict now?
Have the aircraft come out of the open air storage and latex covering with no issues? Or have they suffered corrosion, water damage, and other problems as a result of the method of storage? What is the verdict guys?

I've only seen '54 and '04 so far. '54 looks pretty good but '04 (and I hear '16 at Omaka) has suffered water damage and corrosion in the cockpits. Apparently that is one of the reasons those aircraft have been selected for museums rather than being sold to Wolf in the US (who intend to fly them).

Does anyone have a list of which 'frames are going to museums and which are still trying to be sold?
