As many will know, the names of all those New Zealanders who died in the World Wars are inscribed on the walls inside the Auckland War Memorial Museum. In another area they also have those who died in Korea, Malaya and Vietnam.
I was there last month and it struck me that there was not yet, as far as I could see, a wall with the name sof the New Zealanders who have been killed in combat East Timor and Afghanistan. Does anyone know if the museum actually plans to commemorate those soldiers who have lost their lives for their country? Just wondering.
The names of men and women of Auckland lost during World War II are recorded in the marble Hall of Memories. Panels commemorating New Zealands loss in Korea, the Malaya-Borneo conflict and Vietnam, are also enshrined here.
Once we leave Afghanistan we could add Timor and there? (and add an apostrophere to the website)
