Here are some slightly clearer versions of those latest photos Mike. Great shots. I reckon the earlier photo of the P-40 being picked up by the Chevy crane with the other flatbed there would make a great 1/35th scale diorama project.
FWX , _if only_________why did we not make the effort_______why didn't I ask if I could have a poke around the Mosquito at Central rd Lower Moutere, when I worked across the road long ago, dum , dum ,dum,
Stunning stuff, gentlemen. I'm utterly impressed. Great to see all the colour shots. They're gold for my modelling projects - 2 X P-40Ks, one in moderate weathering, t'other v-e-r-y weatherd.
What I would've given, had the chance, to save a few Corsairs. Can you imagine a flypast of four in formation? With four Hudsons in trail. Such a shame there wasn't a fourth option from the US. Like, 'take 'X' amount for private collectors'.
If only . . .
Oh, and one last. A Percival Proctor?? YGBSM! Beautiful sight.

The ex Indian Air Force B-24 at Cosford does apparently talk. When I was living in the UK at the beginning of the 90's there had been rumours of sounds coming from the aircraft. A university decided to conduct an experiment by recording these sounds at night. Afterwards it seems that they were played back to ex B-24 aircrew and asked them what they heard. The report was that the sounds were aircrew preparing for a raid. The aircraft did see active service with the RAF during WW2. I dunno!
Fantastic Marcus, thanks again! Almost like being there (even though I was once!). The aerial shots also remind me of the day, as a kid, we lined up with the crowds along the roadside outside the airport , to watch the Queen Mum drive past ... Cheers, Chris
