Easy one - aircraft pile? Why not Skyhawk?
I'm off to bed so I can't upload anything tonight, but I would love to see what anyone has. Images from their time in the armed forces, at airshows, chance encounters, anything would be cool.

Believe you me, I want to! I'm working on buying it. That'll be after my car's legal and can drive further than 200m before overheating :-(

Gee those images bring back wonderful some memories, Obi. Thanks for posting them and making me feel 31 years younger! I seem to recall that more than one Wings and Wheels at Wigram started out with a fair bit of cloud in the sky, but cleared up beautifully in the afternoon for the main military flying display.

Which is why those dumb sh*ts in Disneyland/Wellington should have kept Wigram operational instead of relocating the Flying Training Wing to Ohakea. Never mind, Uncle Helen topped that idiocy..... Will keep scouring for more A4 pics anyway ;D

Does anyone know what's with the 'binary code' on the buddy store under NZ6205?

Glossy it is, but the paint scheme looks somewhat different?

Yeah it is the wrong colours and they have used gloss paint! The markings are all wrong as well. I think they used automotive paint It is also missing two of its underwing weapon racks. When they took it into the paint shop to strip it they tried to remove the racks. The bolts on two of them were completely siezed so they just cut them off with a hack saw. The cut off bolts are still in the wing so until they are removed they won't be able to refit the racks. Unbelievable!

At a long shot guess it might have been an end of course project for an aircraft finishers course.

The racks were not "cut off". The two that are still on the wings were unable to be removed, the other two came off with a lot of effort. What was cut off were some of the underwing stores as the racks were completely seized. I believe it was the paint shop that did the cutting, and they cut through the lugs on the stores.

And that sort of treatment to an aircraft (even a bitser!) is why we can no longer have a air combat force. All that lost 'corporate' knowledge, what a waste!

Interesting insight there guys, thanks for sharing. Accurate or no, it's nice to see that someone cared enough to get her looking presentable.
What other hidden gems of photos are out there?

Must have been a cibvvy contracted to the paintshop that day that did that.
