I'm thinking this may be an incident when ASB was taken out of its hangar at night, started and let to run away across Rotorua aerodrome c1950.Looks like a bit too much damage to be the other party in the midair. Great photos too..

Good to see a lot of Ag Tigers... AVI's a favourite, because it was used by James and Robertsons, which there must have been a good reason for James to have sold her to the opposition, and post topdressing she was towing gliders for the Piako Gliding club, where my youth was misspent, until she was replaced by a Pawnee. When she went to the gliding club she was accompanied by several of Robertsons other tiger hulks which formed the basis of the playgound until they were snavelled up by Tiger restorers.

Two of my three favourite Tiger Moths there. ZK-BEN is my favourite civil Tiger Moth, as I have enjoyed so many awesome displays by Dave in it, each one with my heart in my mouth and yet full confidence in his amazing skills; and ZK-BFF just looks so nice in that scheme and the 1930's dancers are a great touch. My other favourite in the RNZAF Historic Flight's one, as I have flown it, and it's gorgeous.

A magnificent effort there by Marcus. I can fill in a number of the gaps (but not all of them by a long chalk). However, not having the benefit of 5 weeks off work, for now I'm only going to upload the ones I already hold in digital format. Just to be contrary, I'm also going backwards! DH82A Tiger Moth ZK-TGR/2 was a UK import, already having been to the USA and Belgium before it arrived here. Arriving in late 2004, it seems to have spent most of its time inactive at Timaru. Registered in January 2005, it departed again in 2009. At Timaru 6/9/09, Dave Paull photoTiger ZK-PDL was also ex UK, arriving in NZ as ZK-BLQ in 1955 for private owner use. Bought by the Christchurch Airport Authority & Christchurch City Council in 1987 it became ZK-PDL with sponsorship by the PDL Electrical firm as first prize in the 1987 Christchurch air race. Won by A B Munro, Mosman, NSW and restored to its old identity as ZK-BLQ it became the first Tiger Moth to fly the Tasman Sea - Te Paki-Norfolk-Lord Howe-Sydney 21-24Jan88. Became VH-XWM in 1990. Anybody ever seen a photo of Tiger Moth ZK-JLF? It was ex-G-ANKL. Restored at Mandeville 1994-200, it became ZK-JLF for one test flight at Mandeville 21Apr00 (possibly marked as NC22TM ?). Then went to the USA as N82TM for Sea-Air Ltd., Portland, OR. See www.abpic.co.uk/photo/1210951/ZK-DHA was ex-NZ1423. Sold to Tulloch Transport Ltd., Matuura in 1956 it remained inactive until becoming ZK-DHA in 1978. Had 4 private owners, crashed on t/off Taumaranui 18Oct03. Pilot Nola Pickard. ZK-DHA at Whenuapai January 2002NZ1485 was relegated to instructional use as INST151 at Hobsonville in 1951, and was eventually passed to 29Sdn ATC, Rotorua where it was rebuilt by Art Finch with motor from ZK-AYW and became ZK-DAM in 1969. Ross Land of Gisborne then owned the aircraft in partnership with others between 1974 and the early-1980s until sold to Robert Vuletich of Rotorua, who bartered it for a crate of Mustang wings from Australia. In Australia it became VH-NVT with K Alderman, Nowra, NSW and for a while was flying with FAA Museum as A17-692. As INSTA151 at Ardmore 11/11/1967 - serial was marked inside the cockpit At Masterton 22/1/1977

I'll try to find and scan a pic of BEF, which I think was a gap. As a wide-eyed 10 year old I blagged a flight in her at Waipukarau. Best... Day... Ever.
