Pretty straight forward getting to this point really I'm also looking through the parts bin for various bits of "Yagi" which I'll need for the rear fuselage and one long bit that comes off the nose section, just below the glazing. I have a few sprues from various Academy PBY kits hanging around that possibly have just what I need.

From a historical perspective, looking up my mate Hollie Claris's logbook, when he was on the Air-Sea Rescue Detachment (I.F.S. - Instrument Flying School Flight) at Whenuapai between 5th of February and 2nd of May 1946 he flew in the following search aircraft: Hudsons: NZ2053 NZ2063 NZ2068 NZ2085 Venturas NZ4555 NZ4610 NZ4621 Even though the logbook is titled "Air-Sea Rescue Detachment at Whenuapai (I.F.S. - Instrument Flying School Flight)" on the top of both pages, at the bottom of each page in the monthly totals red stamp signature box it reads No. 2 (BR) Squadron. So was the IFS part of No. 2 (BR) Squadron? That bit is a bit confusing. Also for the record the pilots that Hollie flew with as their wireless-op were: F/L Jacobs F/L Manners S/L Constance F/L Dow F/L Bayly W/O Raharuhi F/L Pettet (I assume Harry Pettet) F/L Wrenhalls S/L Stevenson F/L Berney P/O Morcom So there were a number of senior pilots flying with this unit during that short couple of months. Most of the flights were "Loop Exercise" or "Loop Boxing Radio Range" - I think they must have bee IFS related rather than actual SAR work. there was a search carried out for a missing pilot, F/L Jacobs, on the 1st of March 1946 in Hudson NZ2085 though (F/L Dow as pilot). And on the 17th of April 1946 they did a search for a C-47 flying over the Tasman on just one engine too, in NZ2085 (F/L Wrenhalls). So I guess the pilot were possibly instructors at the IFS, which was possibly a section within No. 2 (BR) Squadron (the RNZAF's only bomber squadron remaining by then)? If you click on the photo I took of Hollie's logbook this was from the day he left the SAR Detachment and the RNZAF, signatures of all the officers and NCO's of No. 2 (BR) Squadron. Quite a treasure. My question is were all four of these Hudsons painted up in the SAR colours? I am sure I have seen a photo of NZ2085 in the SAR colours somewhere.
They had SAR Hudsons based at Whenuapai and Norfolk, and I think Wigram. So were there other Hudsons apart from these four that were used in the SAR Detachment/s?

That looks great! I never really rated this colour scheme highly when i saw it in black and white photos and side-view profiles, however seeing it made up on a model it looks pretty neat.

The colours are quite striking...I wanted to do something a little different with The Hudson Makes a change from the usual wartime camouflaged examples

LAUNCHING AN AIRBORNE LIFEBOAT on the Waitemata Harbour yesterday. The craft, which was designed by Lieutenant-Commander R. C. Dave, you are correct. Look at the roundel on the starboard wing and you can see the SAR "Cross" that was overpainted on the SAR aircraft.
