Those are simply superb, agree with Baz on #1 but #4 right up there too, not that the others are in anyway dusty, #2 is superbly dramatic & #3 just common or garden superb. Steve.

My 7 year old grandson will love those photos. The Venom is his most favourite aircraft.

The cockpit looks tight!

HAHA! Gorgeous - much better view than the several different angles we had at Masterton - but all were flying shots viewed from the ground... a lovely bird and impressive performance in the air at low levels! Hard to photograph at 150ft and 350kts... Thanks Gavin! You lucky buxxer!!

So very nice Gavin. Wonderful.... All awesome... Woud love a close up of the cockpit/pilot in flight... ? (only but to see my business sticker on the headbox in the sky..lol.) It's a beautiful machine in the air... and its real good to be involved with her (ejection seat). I didnt get a chance to say to you Gavin, but after being involved with David Phillips Hawker Hunter ZK-JIL ejection seat since 1996, I had never seen her properly captured in the air in photographs.....until your shots back in Jan 2012 over Tauranga... and now you have captured ZK-VMN superbly also. We saw you guys flying around yday, thought Sean was just having fun! I must catch up with you for some nice copies please, pay a visit next time you are in Bulls. .

This was taken towards the end of the flight when we started getting really close. I had a good easy flight profile with around 10 angles to achieve, we had to cut it short as the cloud got really thick and we had to go down while we still had the opportunity to and I will always flag it rather than try and formate again once the aeroplanes involved have made there way down. It is a lot easier in many ways to photograph these aircraft from the ground, its always an interesting ride in the back, the great thing was that the engine was nice and loud and Sean showed some real skill, anyone would have though he had been a Red Arrow in the past

There is something very beautiful about that deep blue sky and the colours the Venom is painted in. Superb photos. Congrats to John for making this possible and for going solo in her.

I flew J-1630 for sure between 1969 and 1975 (transition to Hunter). It's a funny feeling to see the aircraft with the characteristic Swiss 'nose' flying out of Ohakea! I'm sure you've seen this: On this clip from 1970 I've been the youngest pilot participating in the first of a series of landings on Swiss highway: old.hermannkeist.ch/ausgemusterte-flugplaetze.htmlI had the opportunity to do this later on Hunter and on the F5E too. Enjoy! Cheers, SwissVenom
