Just got my latest copy of Australian Aviation and saw an image of yet another paint scheme for the J model Herks. This time instead of the loer 1/3 being painted in a light grey, it was a bit lower and in a more freehand line, better but still looks out of place with other cameoflague schemes. Just stick with one overall colour. When you look at a Herk in the sky, even from reasonably close, it more or less looks one colour and if a bright sky, it looks very dark. looks like a matt paint as well which would get dirty quicker and require more maintenance, plus matt paints are known to be more porous, again requiring more maintenance.

Yep. The neighbourhoods really gone down hill since 10% of your population moved in. But what's your problem with budgie smugglers?

My thoughts - It's an inflatable boot (which you obviously can't paint as it'd crack off), and all the other areas are thermally anti/de-iced. leading edge of the panel." Andovers had similar things on the leading edges of the wings , tail etc One of the things yiou had to check prior to dispatch was that they inflated. I always found it hard to see.
