Hello,
I make searches concerning Stirling BF513 which was shot down in my region in Belgium on April 15th, 1943. A commemorative ceremony will take place on May 8th, 2015.
I am thus deeply interested in the group Facebook of Sqn 75 and I have just asked to be a member there.
May I ask you if a particular approach must be undertaken in this sense ? Thanks
Stanford

Hello Flash,
Magnificent! You can contact me by e-mail via the address shortstirling@skynet.be or guy.lapaille@skynet.be.
I participate in the preparation of the commemorative ceremony which will take place on May 8th, 2015 and I was already able to gather well enough of documents. I was also able to establish the contact with 4 families and I would be particularly happy to be able to get in touch with a member of Angus McVicar's family.
Thanks already.
Best regards Stanford

I come back with my researches concerning the crew of the BF513 coded AA-E.
I wait impatiently for news of Flash concerning Angus McVicar.
Concerning the P/O James Kennedy Grainger, I can give the following further information: He was 21 when he was killed on 15 April 1943 when BF513 was shot down over Belgium. His parents, William Kennedy Grainger and Ida Tomasina Grainger were Napier residents and at the time James was lost they lived at 207 Carlyle Street.. Napier. Ida Grainger died on September 23rd, 1964 at the age of 71. Her address at this time was 9 Nikau Street Napier. William Grainger died on January 15th, 1980 at the age of 82. His address at this time was 4/90 Gloucester Street Napier.
James Grainger had two sisters:Alison Mary GRAINGER and Brenda Josephine GRAINGER. It would be great if anyone knows anything further about the sisters. The Belgian village near where BF513 was shot down is intending to erect a monument to the crew in 2015 . Thanks already

Hello All,
I have been contacted by someone trying to trace relatives of Sgt Angus McVicar. I am afraid that I do not know'Flash' but my husband was Angus's nephew. Sadly, both he and his father, Angus's brother are dead but my Mother - in - law is still alive and her daughter, who is Angus's niece. She has two daughters and I have a daughter and two sons, Angus's grand nieces and nephews. My mother-in-law is aware of three cousins of Angus's who may still be alive, but she is not in touch with them. I hope that helps.
Best wishes
Gill

There would be a link between the pseudonym "Flash" and Dougal Gill, Thurso, Caithness, who's mother was a cousin of Angus McVicar ? Somebody would have indications concerning this person with whom I would deeply like to get in touch ?
I'm also in search of the family of the P/O James Kennedy GRAINGER from Napier 13573 RNZAF
Many thanks for help
