For those who have not worked out what is was, it is the former T188C Husky ZK-ETR from Wanganui. It is no longer fitted with the turbo charged engine but a conversion was is known as a Bonaire 550, now offered by Davis Aviation Services by fitting the aircraft with an IO-550. The new engine can be fitted to Cessna 185 and 206 models. In that casual walk around, the give away, is the big square tipped three blade propeller. Hey thanks for that, I thought the exhaust looked unusual, interesting re the engine change, so more power due to a bigger engine, would think taking a turbo charged engine out would mean less power? Thought I’d also add a pic of the long range bladder which sits in the hopper.

Turbo chargers in aircraft are more for retaining power with density altitude rather than increasing output at sea level, although they will do that as well of course but due to engine limitations the extra power is often not useable. So the turbo is not necessarily that useful in an ag-aircraft if you aren't operating in a really hot/high environment.

Wonder if the pilot has a long-range bladder...

Can’t get em all, missed this one landing due to work getting in the way of fun. Nice livery on this 185 heading to NZ via Norfolk, due to depart 5am tomorrow from Lord Howe Island.

VH-PGE has been on the ground a little over an hour, overnighting before direct flight to Hamilton then bound for a new home in Gisborne. A face only a mother could love but beauty in the eye of the beholder! Found an old clip of VH PGE earning her keep, I like when they sit down hard when the product goes in.

Thanks. That clip is brilliant. You sure PGE actually took off? I only just saw the A/c disappearing over the hill or maybe it was the curvature of the earth. ;-)

Nice surprise today the first RAAF Spartan (A34-001) to visit Lord Howe Island, did three touch and goes then a flyby of the mountains, notable feature how quiet these things are! Apparently had come from NZ on her way home. While I was waiting for the Spartan snapped a couple of the locally based 310, and the regular RPT Qantas Dash 8 200 departing.

Always had a soft spot for the CT4 and her predecessor the air tourer, on her way to a new home in Victoria Australia, Keri Keri, Lord Howe Island, Gold Coast. I’m guessing the crown necked Kiwi dripping blood, an air force logo?
