NZ6205, Prototype Kahu single seater, final airframe hours 8079.3, final landings 6449, arrested landings 39, date of first flight 6/3/70, date of last flight 30/7/04. It was the last A-4 to go into storage at WB.
Apparently it has a large crack in one of its wing spars and will need either a new wing or new spar fitted before it flies again.

Great pic Gavin, was this the recon model without guns. No. None have guns any more. It's only a 10 minute job to fit and remove the guns anyway, actually it takes longer to do the paper work.

The cracks I saw last year on NZ6205 were on the right hand side wing ( leading edge) and were very obvious to the naked eye

Were they cracks in the wing skin or in the spar by the undercarriage bay. I thought that when they did the wing refurbishment program they had sorted out the cracking problems or did 05 have some heavy landings.
