Is this an ex-Navy landing craft?

I spotted this moored at the Wynyard wharf in Auckland yesterday, At first I just thought it was a pretty tatty and quite ugly boat, then I noticed the front and got wondering, is this converted from a WWII landing craft? Any ideas?

She's a dive charter boat operating out of Waiheke,Island by Redquartes ltd. She is also sometimes known as Redquarters or Barrier Boat. She is 85 ft long

I just heard from Dougie Windust on Facebook who messaged me with this:

"Hello Dave...was just wandering around the Web and saw you ask a question about a boat called RedQuarters. I built her in Gladstone in Queensland and she was used for servicing lighthouses and camping drop off around the reef islands. She went on the rocks...was salvaged...had 20 feet added to length...went to Fiji then Auckland. A good usefull ship although a bit ugly."
