So whats the happening with regards the Good old Iroquois these days. How many do they have in storage or broken down for spares. With more NH90's here now, and the mako's doing training, I take it more will be parked up this year. any news on one for the Historic Flight.

I saw a comment recently that said that three Iroquois had been retired.
Comment was in RNZAF News December 2013

Was told at Tauranga Air Show that P-3K (01) is 49 this year. No laptop to search and backup from regional links but... and the Hugheys weren't far behind.

In many cases, BoC dates are notional, and relate to the date the paperwork was signed off. This can differ from arrival dates and allocation dates but days or at worst, weeks.
IIRC, the data plates display only an acceptance date, which again can differ from reality.
The only way to know, is to be there at the time.
With regard to 4201, i would support Peter's date, as the aircraft was at Auckland when I got there in October - it was the only one on base at that pont.

So that acceptance date you mention Les, would that be the date accepted by the RNZAF at the Lockheed factory, or accepted after delivery to NZ?

Pretty sure acceptances are done at the factory as it would have been our crew who brought them home after acceptance flights etc

Acceptance at factory, usually.
Just checking my records (not trusting memory!), NZ4201 arrived in NZ 25 Oct 66, but was BoC 1 or 15 Aug 66. Normally aircraft are bought on charge after arrival in NZ, but all 5 of our new buy Orions were BoC prior to departure from US.
The first 3 C-130's were the other way around, being Boc after arrival. The last two were BoC 7 and 6 months BEFORE arriving in NZ.
Iroquois and Sioux were BoC after arrival in NZ, as were Skyhawk and Strikemaster.

Possibly, but the aircraft were being operated by the RNZAF, so not entirely sure why it happened that way.
