Does anyone have any photos of Fox Moth AQB, in particular it's accident at Motiti Island on the 28th of June 1972?

ZK-AQB in the big hangar at Mt Maunganui 21Oct1967 The wreck was actually bought by David Lilico, then owner of Fox ZK-ADI, before passing to Myles Robertson Under rebuild at Mandeville 3Jan2008. As far as I know, this rebuild has not yet been completed and is still at Croydons.

I think the airframe remains in the foreground is AQB - July 1977

The Tauranga photo with the long-time Hangar Queen BTC in the background even way back then, poor old girl

I remember seeing Bill Paterson flying AQB the first time I was in Tauranga loading AZL in 1962. Jack Humphries was flying AZL and took Bill up for him to give Jack a briefing for his job on Motiti. Saw AQB many times after that.

Some four years after its resurrection I have yet to see ZK-AQB out and about. Anyone knw where it lurks (apart from 'New Plymouth')?

It's still at the Croydon museum in Mandeville ... it was when I saw it in June

Still on the subject of Croydon Aviation Mandeville, does anyone know what the current situation is there? I don't recall hearing of any completed restoration project emerging from there for quite some time

In September Tiger Moth ZK-BRC emerged from there after sitting for five years, but it was not a restoration, it just needed a checkout before it flew again and went to a new owner (in the same family), Liam Beale.
That is the only thing I have heard of in ages coming out of there.

Thanks Dave, it certainly appears as if things have ground to a halt which is a shame given the number of relatively rare aircraft stored there in varying stages of restoration

From what I've seen on social media, Colin Smith seems to have been concentrating on his railway interests over the last few years.

I wonder how the owners of the aircraft projects being restored feel about that
