I've been downloading every episode as it is posted.
And I passed the link to the website on to Jack Hayes (former SAS commander and NZDF medals consultant) and he tells me he has circulated it around a lot of people at defence headquarters.
Jack is a part-time ticket assistant on a couple of the Wairarapa trains, working his way to and from his job at defence headquarters.

I just published the latest episode of my Courage And Valour: New Zealanders in the Italian Campaign of WWII series. Episode 9: Trieste and War's End. This episode covers the New Zealand Infantrymen of the 2nd NZ Division who had been sitting for months at the Senio River. We follow their story as they break out north in the spring offensive, rolling north up through the top of Italy all the way to Trieste, where the war ended. But the kiwis found themselves facing another very potential enemy in that city, the Communist forces of Yugoslavia. In this episode you’ll hear: Ray Moncur – Divisional Signals Ted Waters – 21 Battalion Nolan Raihania – 28 Battalion Te Puhi Patara – 28 Battalion Morris Johnstone – 27 Battalion Harry Shirley – 21 Battalion Gordon Briggs – 23 Battalion Norrie Miller – 22 Battalion Ted “Bluey” Homewood – 21 Battalion Pat Green – 24 Battalion Haddon Donald – 22 Battalion Aubrey Balzer – 28 Battalion and Norm Harris – 24 Battalion www.newzealandersatwar.com/Couarage_And_Valour/episode-9-trieste-and-wars-end/

Thank you, it's great to hear actual soldiers speak about events at Cassino in their own words... My grandfather Murray Andrew Allan lied about his age to get and ended up as a signalman in the 8th Army. On his 21st birthday he got "the day off". The poor fellow who replaced him got killed. (My grandfather used to get very drunk according to my father on his birthday upon his return to NZ). I just don't think it sat well with him.
Hey! you've got me down as a LAC... happy to stay at the rank I left the RNZAF at in Jan 1995... CPL. (What will EVil Crabbe and Hooter Horton say, they will think I was demoted!). ha ha... Metalbashers can be very hard judges of their own... boy we used to play some funny tricks on each other.
