Supermarine Seafire L III, NF547 '2D', 885 Sqn FAA, the Air Spotting Pool, RNAS Lee-on-Solent, HMS Daedalus, on the 4th or 5th of June 1944. RAF groundcrew paint the invasion stripes and assist FAA groundcrew replace the entire tailplane and rudder, re-using the horizontal stabilizer ailerons. Sub/Lt R. Hales, who flew the aircraft on 6th June spotting targets for the Allied Fleet's bombardment of Normandy's coastal defences, inspects the arrestor hook. Miniart provided the fencing and pole for a scratch built (and functional) windsock. Acrylic painted tarmac base in an old picture frame.
