I have just added the listing for this airshow to my Airshow Archives page. There are still gaps which I am working on, if anyone wants to assist or can spot any aircraft I've missed out that were in the air display or on static display, please let me know. It's at the bottom of this page www.cambridgeairforce.org.nz/Airshow_History_2010s.html

OK, It was doing that at WOW for me too, when I had it on Intelligent Auto mode. I'm never overly concerned about the perfect prop arc like some people but I agree that having a dead-stick look isn't great. Yeah, I guess that if you are tracking something its logic goes 'moving target, shoot fast!', which is great if you are snapping johnny at football, not so great for the spinny things! A DSLR will tend to do the same thing if left on full-auto setting. You might be able to set your camera up so you can change the shutter speed very quickly (by moving a dial or lever) - handy if you want to switch quickly between a jet flying past, and a prop plane starting up next to you.

OK, a bit more time this evening, so here are the Yaks at Masterton ZK-KGB/2 - Auckland ZK-YAQ/3 - Ardmore ZK-PTE/2 - New Plymouth ZK-YAK/2 - New Plymouth ZK-XXS - North Shore ZK-YAC/2 - based at Tauranga (this was the one that did not participate in the formation display) and of course, the wildcard. Yak-3M ZK-VVS - lives at Omaka

NB. I think YAC is based in Tauranga.
Correction done, thanks

I'll finish off my contribution with a few photos that have no other signifigance than I just enjoyed seeing that particular aircraft in action. Cirrus ZK-CNZ/2 on static display throughout, then heading home to Feilding DC-3 ZK-AWP of Air Chathams did its joyriding work each day after the show DH60G Moth ZK-ADT repositioning for static display. The kid in the front cockpit is enjoing the experience. Local Titan T51 Mustang ZK-WWM heading back home Jim Frogley's Beaver ZK-BBX visited on the Sunday. Nice to see. and finally, Dominie ZK-AKU also did joyrides.

Gorgeous photos Oesau - sometimes the zoom in close gives more personal detail about what the pilot is actually doing. Fantastic Vampire banking shot!! Nice panning and very good focus on them all, distinct outlines too.

Thanks for the comments suthg - appreciate it. Yes close up's of the cockpit while pilots are going through the taxi (and mental) prep are some of my favourite shots (of course we all love a dynamic flyby!) - probably my fav is Air Commodore Alan Clement (RAAF) when he's finished his display of the Meteor at Temora, he just looks so dam happy (and he is - had the chance to chat with him one evening after a display weekend at Temora and he just loves it - and how could you not) Gloster Meteor F.8 by Oesau, on Flickr
