Not posting here very much 'cos I have a book to finish (aqpologies to everyone BTW).
But, because it is so seldom seen and FWIW:
At 1300 today (17 October 2014), DHC-2 Beaver ZK-CKH 'NZ6001` flew (ambled?) across Cambridge on a North-South track. I obviously can have no idea where it was going (aside from 'south') and FR24 gives no clues, but as we don't see it out very often, submitted for those who may be interested in such things...
Now, back to 'the monster'.

FWIW (an update): -CKH ('NZ 6001') was observed (and heard) flying South-North at 1517 on 19 October 2014. As before, it appeared to be in no great hurry.
I hope you saw it Dave...

Nope, missed it again.
We did have a black R44 buzzing the house several times this morning as it operated in and out of the polo grounds, obviously shuttling people to Mystery Creek for the horse thing there.

Sorry you missed it. Agree about the R-44, although I wasn't sure why it was here. Thanks for the info.

There are photos on Facebook of the Taumaranui Tiger Club fly-in - a good collection of photos and planes - odd ones out were Cessnas and the DHC-2!! The Fox Moth ZK-APT was there as well.

Can't access facebook from site I'm sorry - saw it this morning briefly before leaving for work. Trying to find it on my phone... Brett Nicholls "liked" it titled "Tiger Club Spring Fly in Taumaranui"
Cheers

Had planned to go down to Taumarunui on Sunday morning to see the fun.
However we had to zip across to Ardmore to reclaim FLH after its SIDS, and get that back to WP. Low cloud during that exercise - flew at 700' up the harbour - the highest I got was the climb to circuit height on joining back at WP.
Given Sunday morning weather was still 'just clearing' and all the airfield en route were grass (which doesn't stop them being still wet and soggy after the rain stops) I decided to flag it and visit Don Subritzky instead.
