YES! Fantastic! I've been wanting them to churn one out ever since I saw the real deal at the AHC in 2007. Excellent news.

Century Aviation in East Wenatchee, Washington built the replica www.century-aviation.com/replicas.php"We have just completed a replica of the Airco DH.4 for The Vintage Aviator Limited (a flying Museum) in New Zealand. They will use a Liberty V-12 engine on which they are doing the overhaul. They will have the instruments certified, install the fabric and paint the wings and tail surfaces. They are also supplying the propeller, wheels and tires. When their work is complete, this DH.4 will be flyable." Looking forward to seeing it later this month! Cheers James

I'm pretty sure the aircraft pictured is the one delivered to Kermit Weeks.

Century built a couple for Kermit. Here they are in October 2013.
However last year he posted on his Facebook page that the work was not to an airworthy standard, and they needed to be rebuilt again.

Word from Masterton is that the DH.4 undertook a test flight this morning.

Word from Masterton is that the DH.4 undertook a test flight this morning. I actually saw an unfamiliar shape in the sky (biplane) as I was heading out through Waingawa this morning while driving a passenger train to Wellington, although it was a bit too far away to positively identify what it was. The thought briefly crossed my mind that TVAL may be flying something new, although it never occurred to me it may have been a DH4. I had a SLR camera and 18-200mm lens with me, but trying to set it up in a hurry and take a long zoom shot out of a locomotive is a very difficult task. It never even occurred to me to attempt a photograph.

I'm waiting to see a Sopwith 1 1/2 strutter come out of their factory. They have one as a pattern
Would love to see a SPAD XIII but I understand that Sir Peter is not keen on them.

A DH-4 today, a DH-9A tomorrow, and perhaps even (eventually) a Wop?
One can but dream...
It looks really great though, congratulations to all concerned.
BTW: Does anyone know if it is staying in New Zealand?

The work probably wasn't "to an airworthy standard" because they built it to the original ww1 plans
