A very sad day for AirNZ and all their staff and pilots to lose a friend and colleague, too young. Very sad too for her family, my sincere thoughts and condolences to them all.

The Herald should have a bit more respect and not have published her name. I think it's a shitty piece again as they mention the safety of the aircraft etc. Have some friggen respect. Poor lady and her collegues. 'Just landed a Dreamliner full of passengers'. Stop the hype.en I can't understand how her name came to be published in the headlines (which it is this morning). RIP and condolences to her family and collegues I disagree. Personally, I thought the piece quite respectful and was a good human interest account with its summary of her outstanding career. During my many years of research and publishing of information about many thousands of those who have died while serving in aviation I have communicated with many relatives and friends of same who would hold the opposite view to what you have expressed. I might also say that they would be rather disgusted at the disrespectful tone of your comments. Errol

Yes, there were some positives in the piece though the 'nitty gritty' details are totally not necessary and I am sure her family and friends did not care to read about that in the headlines. I disagree that her family would be disgusted at my comments. They did not write the piece, journalist Patrice Dougan did. The only comments I expressed directly at the pilot were 'Poor lady and her collegues RIP and condolences to her family and collegues'. Sorry if you found that offensive.
