When outward-bound to Melbourne early on the morning of 30 October, I noticed what appeared to be a Bae 146 in the (Fieldair?) compound alongside the Convairs'. It seemed to have some sort of dark all-over fuselage paint job, although how much of this was due to shadow from the adjacent lights I couldn't determine.
As I've not been able to find any information concerning it, what is the aircraft (indeed, is it in fact a Bae 146), who is it registered-to and what is it doing 'lurking' at Fieldair's hangar; a jet surrounded by turboprops?
Information anyone? Thanks.

It is Vincent Aviation's BAe146. Did you see the Chatham DC-3 there too? I really enjoy seeing that parked there when I go to work, very nostalgic.

Thank you gentlemen; it hadn't occurred to me that it was the Vincent aircraft, and yes flyjoe I DID see the DC-3 as we rolled past. As you say, a 'nostalgia' kick-, and one that was compounded by the sight of another one (possibly ex TAA) at Essendon four hours later.
Aint' memories wonderful?
Now if only Fieldair would put a pair of Eland's on one of their Convairs'...

Komata The DC3 visible from the Tullamarine Freeway at Essendon is VH-TMQ which is ex RAAF. (ex A65-91 c/n 32884) There is another DC3 based at Essendon - VH-OVM (ex A65-98 c/n 33102) and it’s a bit harder to see as it is based on the northern tarmac outside Hangar 5, owned and operated by Shortstop Jet Charter and is also ex RAAF. These two are both commercially operated (and I get to fly OVM from time to time). OVM has yet to reach 13,000 hours total time and TMQ has around 14,000 hours total time. The ex TAA DC3 VH-AES is based at Tullamarine and is kept outside at the Airline Maintenance base.
