Dave, Cresco Lane is at the airport and is the location for Flight Care Ltd, so I'm guessing Alleasing is co-located

Alleasing is an Aussie based finance company, the Auckland address is a rent-a-desk office.Obviously someone has financed the planes and the meter is ticking as they sit there. Maybe they are about to fly the Tasman?.

Strange..... Because they don't appear to have been offered for individual sale (at a realistic price) makes me wonder if perhaps they are trying to sell privately as one lot. But to who? I would have thought they would be taken up fairly quickly to individuals if offered around that 80K mark. I doubt they would get more (per aircraft) selling as a bulk lot.

I had a feeling they were trying for over $200,000 per machine.

Peter mentions a 3rd party quoted $350k (for 1!). So will assume that they aren't that serious about moving on at this stage. Still the annual cost of storage and registration will be a fairly significant figure. Mean while the calendar times are are slowly running out depreciating them further.

If they've been financed someones paying interest every minute they are sitting there.

The Airtrainers are normally stored in the hangar shown behind the aircraft in the image below. These were taken with my phone when I worked in Napier in November/December last year. With an old friend requiring maintenance in the hangar.

I was told that a friend of a friend rang up PAC to see if he could buy one, last year. He was quoted 350K. Needless to say he lost interest at that point. The $350K sounds like the price to build you a new one. The ex-RNZAF operated ones are not owned by Pacific Aerospace. I'm pretty sure they were only ever leased to the RNZAF. The owner/lessor just took them back when they were de-mobbed.

$350K for a used Airtrainer? ...surely a candidate for the quote, "Mate, you're dreaming!"

I'd be asking why the RNZAF seemed to dump them as quickly as they could. The transition to the Beech and disposal of the Airtrainer was a lot more rapid than the usual replacement process. Are they, to use a well worn political phrase, "clapped out"?

Napier. Not Bridge Pa/Hastings.

I thought that was made plainly clear in Peter's earlier post with the picture of the Airtrainer in it. My understanding is that the owners want to sell the lot as a fleet, rather than individually. Perhaps a high price is being quoted to put off individuals making less-than-serious enquiries? Can we suspect that they don't really believe that an Airtrainer would actually sell for that amount?
