It's quite a bizarre museum. They must have spent a significant amount constructing the larger of the display buildings, and there are some very special cars and aircraft there, but the level of maintenance and restoration seems lacking. Some very nice cars are sitting outside through southern winters. Maintaining that amount of machinery would be an enormous job, but it is very sad seeing the neglect. Surely better to sell some of the items off to those who could restore and enjoy them?

Couldn't agree more. They seem to have gathered together this enormous collection of stuff with little restraint and little consideration for some of the objects' long term future. The Prentice, Lodestar and An-2 should be better looked after. A real shame.

Both of these are the sisters to the two seater restored to fly by Dick Macintosh here in Oz. All were owned by Gordon Glynn at one stage and I had the privilege of working on its rebuild and doing all the drawings and research for its colour scheme. The red as it is is partially incorrect but the real colour was more a red tending to a Thai Silk "Hot Pink" from the aerobatic team. Its future pilot "Frawls" stated categorically to the owner that he was.... "Not Flying a Pink Jet!" so ...... its red.........The sound of that machine on its first take-off from Sydney's Kingsford Smith airport was incredible particularly as it has a "hard" light to the afterburner. Sort of full on or nothing.... The same applies to its shut down, from full AB to nothing and it was that which got all our attention when it disappeared and the AB was shut down. Suddenly there was NO jet sound at all and we all thought the worst. Hearts started again a short second later when we heard it off in the distance but it was really very quiet compared with the roar and crackle of the AB

After Photobucket's great moves my scan of the Onehunga MiG in Polish service disappeared. I've just restored the link and here it is again: 35314952540_e62a9bdbfc_o by Zac Yates, on Flickr I've finally got a model kit to build 8008, I'll post a photo or two once it's done.
