The command structure changes resulted from the ANZAC day accident in 2010. the Court of Inquiry and the external review of the accident found that there was no direct 'command' chain from the operating units on each base until reaching Air Command. The reversion to the 'old' Base Commander system places a person who will be directly responsible for the units operating on each of the bases. And it has taken a further five years to rectify this complete balls up?

"Women will be classified as Aircraftman and will be referred to in the male gender, except for the purposes of accommodation!!! such was a direction from many year ago. In regard to the HCM I had some explanning to do in my book SEEK and DESTROY to the proofer who was also at a loss to understand why we called female crew members Helicopter Crewmen! Anyhow that problem has been resolved with the dropping of the title HCM and just referring to the crewies by their rank.

And we have a female POHCM on 6 SQN, so the Navy isn't immune either.

Just a question... If possible to answer of course... So, how much flies an RNZAF pilot a year? P-3K2 Orion pilot for example? Thanks
