Great to see Peter. We should point out that for those who don't know, Keith was a pilot with No. 109 Squadron RAF, an OBOE Mosquito squadron - not a Bf109 or A109 pilot for those wondering.

I have been told since that work on the Bristol has stopped ....asbestos ?? The cabin heating plumbing that runs from the engines and into the cargo hold is all lagged in the stuff. The AFM example had to have it "encapsulated" with a special paint before the public were allowed back a few years ago. As with anything to do with Asbestos, generally it is safe if left alone, but as soon as it is disturbed you have problems and have to contain and remove it. With the dismantling of the Ardmore aircraft this is probably now a very expensive problem.

Found this elsewhere, bit long winded but shows off the new livery quite well, she looks mean with the all black undersides.

Unfortunately poor weather forced a postponement until later in the week:

I'm surprised her actual serial TV959 has been replaced with a pseudonym - and for the record, I much preferred her previous uniform...

I noticed that too. I wonder how common that approach is.

I can only say what I do when I prepare a paint scheme for someone. I accurately represent the aircraft chosen right down to the serial number. Its what I have done for about 30 machines now including Winjeels, Mustangs, Boomerang, T.28s, A.37s, Temora's Hudson, Spitfire VIII, Meteor and others overseas such as Sea Fury, Baghdad Fury, Skyraider, Harvard, T6, and B.25. The aircraft schemes take a long time to produce and accuracy is paramount to me. Sometimes an owner has a particular "bent" towards leaving off something from one of my schemes or adding something but that is their privilege. Sometimes there are 'technical' errors like photocopying one of my drawings with the toner level low and coming up with the incorrect shade of blue........... most frustrating on a particular Oz Mustang which I hope will soon be rectified..... Adding all the correct stencils is also paramount to represent the aircraft correctly and that also means their correct font and style. The Temora Meteor serial (its RAF serial) on some of the greater detail panels is of note there. To ensure accuracy you need accurate drawings. I currently have complete 1 : 1 scale drawings for Spitfire, Hudson and Mustang plus big chunks of T.28. But no matter what you do, its the owner who has the final say even after the drawings have been prepared.

We should see this one flying later in the year... ....just in time for Wings Over Wairarapa/Classic Fighters next year perhaps?
