I honestly have much better things to do with my time than watch Campbell Live. I am sure it will be, a. Over-dramatised b. Incorrect c. Misleading d. Damaging to some poor individual. e. Biased to the extreme. It would have been many years since I put myself through the misery of watching one of those shows. I imagine having some form of knowledge on the subject would only increase the viewing frustration. Wouldn't there be a better way of getting informed ? www.findlostaircraft.co.nz/zk-ebu.html

It was actually quite reasoned and reasonable coverage.

It was actually quite reasoned and reasonable coverage. I'm with you. They kept the drama to the minimum and presented as many facts as possible. Even having a possible search solution suggestion that was reasonable. Obviously Campbell isn't on baron's people of the year but seriously, I thought it was well put together and worth a view "on demand" www.tv3.co.nz/tabid/3692/MCat/2908/Default.aspxPete

Campbell and Gower both grate me. I trust you guys though and have started watching the footage on the Demand now. Six minutes into it and I agree that it is not at all nauseating. If you need to listen to someone that honestly believes they know everything about any subject then I have found either a politician, a policeman or a journalist would be your man. They may not have even worked out that many people can see straight through them.... Some are obviously much worse than others. I could watch TV3 for a few things, now Paul Henry has moved on that just leaves Galipoli. www.3news.co.nz/tvshows/campbelllive/flight-zk-ebu-mystifies-36-years-on-2015030518#axzz3TXj8G6V8

Not so strange the media bit like the polycocks in polydicks, I was in a store the other day just get to some supplies to watch TV3s 'Galipoli' for that night, I mentioned a great TV doco come movie, the reply was .. "Awe .. I don't live in the past I look towards the future" ? ... obviously this women did not have any idea or had any history knowledge 'always look at the past to create a better future' I was was going to say, she then grunted and went out for anther smoke, they call that a learning curve.
One thing I did follow last nights EBU, just interest sake, like most here have all the books about our New Zealand Bermuda Triangle one thing mention and would and was a great idea .. turn the region into a ARMY exercise area ... maybe they will stumble onto something, it happened before .

Well I enjoyed watching it last night. I think if anything, we should all just be thankful something on prime time television did something slightly positive for the profile of a sometimes forgotten aspect of the very reason we all signed up here. Love of aviation. Thousands of people probably watched it who would never have known how many missing planes and soles there around around our country. Even if one person came away from watching it with a new interest in any aspect of aviation, I think we're better off. My 2 cents worth. Have a good weekend

I watched it and was also pleasantly surprised. I also laughed when I saw the bookshelf in the office - it looks just like one of mine

What a nice piece of doco/reporting. Factual and to the point with due reverence paid to the victims and those left behind.

Hi All, First off, I'm glad you all enjoyed the Show. Mike Wesley-Smith and I put a hell of a lot of work into it, and I was very impressed that Mike went to great extremes to avoid sensationalism. There are actually more planes/aviators than the 12 he reported missing in New Zealand, but he stuck to the ones we felt had a reasonable chance of being found on land - so the real tally is much higher! The one main regret I have is that we concentrated so much on the task at hand that I forgot to give credit to the excellent work of Chris Rudge recording in his book "MISSING" all the 17 missing aircraft in NZ. Without Chris's research, I would not have been able to do what I have to date.... My sincere apologies Chris. Anyway, I'm hoping one of you might be able to help in the way of: I'm looking for an Aviation Map that would have been the same vintage that Ned Morrison would likely have used 29-12-1978. I don't need the map - just a scan, or photograph of the area that encompasses Haast to Lake Moeraki. If you have one, can you please email me at grgrimmer@inhb.co.nz It is needed to assist in the forthcoming search. Regards to you all, Gavin Grimmer www.findlostaircraft.co.nz

Hi everyone,
Just to let you know, I have been sent maps by a few of you and it is very appreciated. These various maps all have a story to tell, so it has been a very interesting exercise.
Many thanks to you all.
Regards, Gavin

Good to see the gathering of those who have lost loved ones - a real mark of respect, and to get them involved in the search, even if only those that physically could. Well done and good empathy. The nation was also involved by viewing and so enables more respect and sympathy from the general public, and those that may be able to help with technological tools.
