NZ7002 in the early white-feather colour scheme. I have no record of where/when, but I do note that it has been zapped by the Aussies!

you will find that when they switched from the silver/aluminium to light gull grey that the colour went slightly higher up the fuselage to line up with the top of the front low side windows and also atop the side paratroop door

I know that the Air Force marked the 'Birthday of NZ7001 during March. Which birthday was it?
From the official records: NZ7001 first flew on 19 November 1964 with a Lockheed test crew 1 April 1965 it first flew with an all New Zealand crew (in the USA) 14 April 1965 along with NZ7002, NZ7003 they were officially welcomed at Rongotai by the Prime Minister on their arrival flight to NZ 15 April 1965 the three Hercules were brought on Charge by the RNZAF (BOC) which is the date we owned them.
so the mid March "birthday" has me somewhat mystified. Any ideas??

I cannot see if this has been reported on the Forum before, but an incident in the Middle East involving NZ7003 has appeared on the Avn Safety Network site. It is reported that the aforesaid RNZAF Hercules was cleared to dangerously low RMA altitudes ( radar minimum sector altitudes ) during an approach to Al-Minhad airport in the United Arab Emirates on 14/6/17 at 0330Z, 0730 local, in bad weather. aviation-safety.net/wikibase/wiki.php?id=199103

Yikes! The flying our No. 40 Squadron crews are doing over there sounds rather amazing. The talk given to the WONZ Forum Meet at Ardmore earlier this year by F/Lt Dave Natapu was very interesting, lots of low level operations. See Dave's talk here: www.cambridgeairforce.org.nz/WONZ_Show_Videos.html#DaveNatapu
