Just hoping someone on here has info on the Boeing 707 that delivered Alpacas into Wellington many years ago.
There is a still picture of it on the Airside NZ Wellington Airport part VHS Video, I have lost my copy, grrrrr!!!!.
Any help will be appreciated.
Also it must have made a few people living out by the airport a bit deaf!!

I was crew on a 707 back around the 1992 time frame and flew Alpacas from Arica Chile to Wellington. Just wondering if the info is related to that flight... The flight number was 007.

Well I had a google about as you do. On a website regarding Alpacas, I found that some had been transported to Wellington on a Chilean Air Force Boeing 707. Sounds a little strange but on 16th July 1989, Chilean Boeing 707-351C, 902 arrived from Papeete. To Auckland and Santiago on 19th.
On 13th January, 1992, quoting AHSNZ Aerolog, N710FW Boeing 707-321C of Florida West. From Pascua with a load of alpacas, to Wellington after picking up pilot. Returned to Pascua on 14th (probably the longest direct flight from Wellington yet?).

Must have been a few grumpy people in Miramar and Kilbirnie when they blasted off. I remember seeing a RAAF 707 flying around Wellington, before heading to Ohakea in the mid 90s.

I'm fairly sure there was an RAAF 707 on static at an Ohakea open day we went to somewhere between 1997-1999 (Exercise Matakana?), if that helps anyone in any way.

I flew the Florida West 707 (N710FW). We had a double crew for that flight and my crew flew from Arica Chile to Pascua. The second crew flew from Pascua to Christchurch then on to Wellington because Wellington was a special qualification airport and we had to pick up a pilot who would qualify us to fly into Wellington.
We rested, then my crew operated the flight from Wellington to Pascua (Easter Island) the next day. When I filed the flight plan I was told it was the longest flight from Wellington.
I started researching this flight because someone asked not long ago about interesting flights I have had during my flying career. This one came up and I started looking for information on it, which led me to this site.

With regards to the Airside NZ video Wellington Airport Segment stills shots at the end, there are a few interesting photographs of some aircraft which came into Wellington such as Polynesian Airlines Boeing 727-200 Martinair (Holland) Boeing 767-300 Ansett Australia Boeing 767-200 Turkish Airlines Airbus A310 I would be interested from hearing from anyone who know the Registrations of these aircraft, at the dates of their visits to Wellington. Thanks
