I have no idea about the incident or the history. I have been around aircraft for a while though and I wouldn't be surprised if there was some flying training going on. Often it involves inexperienced people learning how to get the hang of things. You don't want to ask me about my 'PIO' moments while trying to get to grasps with a Cub. In my favour though, I have seen the results of guys that made even a bigger mess of it than me. I am assuming any incident would be along the lines of a groundloop. 'Write-off and rebuild' would be a pretty recognised method of maintenance with some tail-wheel varieties. www.caa.govt.nz/Weekly_Accident_Reports/weekly_accident_reports.htm

I hadnt heard about the possible recent one , but I did hear that one had been involved in an incident a few months ago in a landing on a farm strip . This should not be taken as fact however ,as it was only mentioned in a breif conversation .

Have not noted any Mishaps from the area recently. IE via ASN etc .The aero club may be unique in NZ .they offer strip training to pupils.as well as the regular PPL training. Are you thinking, may be a strip incident some where ?

Avsafety - since you are so concerned about "what's going on" why don't you just pick up the phone and call them.

Because no-one likes to talk to the media about their accidents? Mainly on account of the fact that journalists generally produce confusing, sensationalist gibberish and also it's often a little embarrassing.
p.s- I'm not saying you are 'the media', I don't know, but the response from most aviation organisations will be the same to enquiries from unknown individuals, because the enquirer might be a journalist.
p.p.s- welcome to the forum.

You are a new member here, and not wanting to put you off the forum, but please let me advise you of our rules here, in which we do not allow speculation relating to or detailed discussion of any accident till after an accident report finding is released so that people and organisations do not have their reputations unduly harmed, and investigations are not unduly tainted by wild speculation and rumours from the public.
We also don't condone rumours or 'airing dirty laundry' publicly of any kind about individuals or organisations who may suffer as a result of such discussion. So you may gather from this that you'll probably not find the answers you seek being particularly forthcoming here on the forum. Perhaps further direct discussion with those involved is the best way forward for you?

Additionally to my welcome- if you head back to the general board there is a thread to introduce yourself (not compulsory though)

I'm not offended. I just thought I'd better explain why your question is not getting answered here.
