Nice set of photos. Sad that it is the end of an era for the airline that Malcolm Campbell started way back in the 1960's.

So how many of the 1900D's have been scrapped and where are the rest going?

None have been scrapped but ZK-EAA, -EAI, -AKL and -EAL have all been sold and delivered to South Africa. ZK-EAQ has been sold and delivered to Guyana. The remainder of the fleets are stored at HLZ or still in service at present.

Really ATR's. I thought ANZ would have bought something totally different to anything else we have already.

Really ATR's. I thought ANZ would have bought something totally different to anything else we have already. Yes, they are buying more ATR-72's to work the loaded Q300 services. The spare Q300's will replace the Beatlejets. Yes,there is more Beatlejets than Q300's but places like Wanganui will have one less service a day and it's better than having to go to New Plymouth and then a mini-bus home.

When did you change to the Q300 Delticman? I see next Monday is listed as Q300

Eagle will remain as a maintenance provider to ATRs in Hamilton and Q300s at Blenheim as it stands - watch this space.
Nope, there were and still are 23 Q300s. Eagle never had more than 19 Beeches.

When did you change to the Q300 Delticman? I see next Monday is listed as Q300 May be about October/November the morning Auckland-Wanganui-Auckland flight became a Q300 and the afternoon flight was quietly dropped. The early morning and late afternoon flights ex Wanganui became Q300's on 9th. Check bolgs, MRC or 3rd Level. Back in the Friendship days, we only had two flights to Auckland, one via Taupo and one via Whakatane.

Thanks for that Grant, I was not aware the maintenance arm was to remain. Eagle Air used to have three divisions in the olden days, it was an aircraft maintenance company; a flying training company; and a charter (later scheduled) airline.

Yep, Dave, another one bites the dust. Eagle remains in situ for now as Air New Zealand gets its regional maintenance sorted out. Air Nelson has gone the same way; it is now just an airline, with its maintenance being carried out by Air New Zealand Regional Maintenance Ltd, although Eagle will remain as a maintenance provider along with Tech Ops in Chc doing line maintenance on ATRs. ANZRML just does ATR and Q heavy and Q line maintenance. It's all a bit confusing...

ZK-EAB made (I've been advised) it's last commercial flight in NZ. EAB was flying over the weekend (13-14th) and from what was the original plan, it was going to be the last one flying.

I remember the Friendship days, passenger through Wanganui on my way to and from Whakatane. Like Whakatane, it always seemed to be sunny in Wanganui!!
