I am in Rome on holiday and I wanted to know a bit more about Italy in World War 2. So I had a search on YouTube and found this
If the link does not work just search for "Liberation of Rome - World War 2 Documentary movie" on YouTube.
At about 8:20 in the film it shows an Allied soldier appearing out of his tent to complain about the horrid weather they are experiencing on the way to Cassino. I couldn't help but notice a striking resemblance to my grandfather. Of course the chance would be very slim, but to narrow it down, my question is ... is the uinform on the soldier a New Zealand uniform?

It looks like an American uniform to me I'm afraid.
If you'd like to learn more about the kiwis in Italy in WWII may I suggest you take a look at my site at www.newzealandersatwar.com and take a listen to the audio series there, "Courage And Valour: New Zealanders in the Italian Campaign in WWII".
