Might be a bit interesting on my Q300 flight on the Thursday! Hope everyone can get their display aircraft there on time, looks pretty wild next week.

We cannot have another airshow washed out this year. So stop with the negative vibes and all think sunshine!

Thinking sunshine! 24 hours a day! We received our trade stand tickets this week and definitely don't want any rain whatsoever. Come and see us Aviation Tours NZ, stand 6, to see details of our Wings & Wheels tour this year. www.aviationtoursnz.com

KTJ, I'm with you about the weather - especially after Masterton. I was at Wanaka for the snow. Still vividly remember hanging on to the umbrellas on the fence line in the Gold Pass area and watching the freezing rain come down. Amazing to see icicles on the fence wire after it passed then about 30 mins later when the cloud cleared snow on all the surrounding hills ! I'm looking forward to Omaka and shall see you in the Gold Pass stand. Hope Aeromedia has been doing his vocal gymnastics and I am looking forward to his commentary - no pressure!

I'll have that bottle of Tuimato Sauce with me too for you to squeeze out onto your pies and chips (airshow food) while watching the aeroplanes. I was going to bring it to the airshow at Masterton, but we won't mention that any more (I prefer to pretend it was all a bad dream). I guarantee that once you have tasted Tuimato Sauce, you'll never go back to Heinz tomato sauce ever again. And....there are even a handful of food outlets in Australia stocking Tuimato Sauce if you go looking for it on the internet.

KTJ, I am looking forward to that, "... with great anticipation..." How does it go with Bambi Burgers although plum sauce I should imagine is normal fare.

It's worse now I wear glasses....I'm liable to tip all sorts of things on blurry human shaped objects. Best not go to the loos with me Lumpy! EDIT: Just a note to those driving up from Christchurch Thursday (or whenever), it might be a long drive to Blenheim as if the road works are still active it can take up to 7 hours to get there. Take your time, the airfield and treasures upon it will still be there whenever you get there. Don Simms was up that way recently he'll know. Teresa and I are leaving about 9.

Yeah it is road works all the way unfortunately and this weather over the last few days and what is forecast for mid next week won't be helping the pot holes! Could even be some serious snow for the South Island mountains mid next week going by current predictions.

This time next week I should be napping at my folks' place, saving energy for the 3.30am Interislander sailing. It's getting closer, people!
Should I be buying a bottle of Tuimato too? I don't want to make Ando pay for excess baggage...

Have we organized any catchup/social gathering for the 5051 of us who will be there so we can make the 1 poor fellow who wont be there jealous?

No Peter we've not organised a formal meet up, but each day after flying at the MAC Bar is the usual meeting point. I realised at the 2015 one that there's no point trying to organise a more formal gathering at an airshow any more as everyone's way too tired and distracted after a day watching planes in the sunshine, and half the people who said they were coming didn't - including one of the speakers who forgot. So a few informal beers at my favourite aerodrome bar is all that's happening this year. See you there.

This time next week I'll be crossing Cook Strait on the 5:00pm Interislander sailing. And I'm taking two bottles of Tuimato Sauce out of my pantry....one for us to indulge in at the airshow — on the pies, chips, and if you're really weird, the whitebait fritters (I'd never do that, but I know some people like to plaster everything in tomato sauce) — and the other one for Ando to take home with him.

So apart from Ando, KTJ, Zac, Don, Baz and Teresa, Gavin, Al, Marty and me, who else is going to be at the airshow next week? I am sooooo looking forward to it.
