A very good day, thanks again Dave, JK, NZ Warbirds and FlyDC3. Very disappointed to miss the BE.2 flying, I actually arrived early on the off chance that it would go up in the very pleasant conditions. Another time! A few of us joined a re-scheduled FlyDC3 flight shortly after the talks started, looking forward to catching the podcast! There is still quite a bit of flooding East of Auckland: Flooding remains in East Auckland by Errol Cavit, on Flickr We swung past MOTAT to see that all aircraft are now under cover - the Sunderland has a temporary setup for another few months. Most of my photos are duplicates of ones that other photogs have done better. Here are a few from the Be2 flight I liked... A photo of a couple of photographers taking photos. Very Meta... Busted! Hi Dave...! Be2 Ready to roll. No brakes. No tailwheel. No worries. Frank and JK pass the Westpac Chopper in the Be2. Admittedly the chopper was hovering at the time.

Bruce's shadow looks like an unfortunate sweat stain on my shirt

A great day, well organised and orchestrated. Pity I got caught in roadworks at Huntly and Rangiriri and missed the first hour. Good to catch up with a couple of old buddies in Kevin Farrely and Pete Mason. Also realising that I was almost certainly on duty crew at Whenuapai with Geoff Cooper when we were baggies in the late 60's.

Bruce Cooke was heard to comment yesterday about JK and Frank wearing helmets that looked wrong for the BE2c. Well errol Martyn has sent me this: "At first glance those helmets being worn by the BE2 'crew' pictured on WONZ looked to me to be quite incongruous . . . but then on the other hand perhaps not so much so when we see the sort of modern headgear of the aviator of 1914 (photo of Will Scotland and his Caudron at Christchurch in early 1914). Cheers, Errol"

Was imported by Lars Fellman a couple of years ago. He flew it regularly until his untimely death from cancer last year. I've been administering his estate and Rob Mackley and Warbirds were kind enough fit it in while we negotiated a sale which will be concluded shortly.

It was definitely interesting to see that Stampe, and the Bulldog, both of which I'd never seen before. Also nice to see the Pervival Gull thingy there too, I never expected to see that in the hangar.

Also nice to see the Pervival Gull thingy there too, I never expected to see that in the hangar. I was very, very sad to see the Percival Gull thingy - my favourite interwar monoplane - was there. But, as Sam kept telling me, I got to see my sister and friends from school. It looks like it was a great event. I look forward to the podcasts and am very grateful for the photos everyone's shared.
