MODERATOR'S NOTE: This sideline discussion began on page 44 of The Harvard Pile but grew enough it began to detract away from the main topic so it's been split off as a new thread here:For a bit more of the history of the B.25 try and find the documentary "Ghosts of the Sky" Here it is!

It was a slightly surreal experience to watch that and then come here and chat with one of the stars! ;-)

Wow, Ando, that film is excellent, such a great documentary and brilliant story. That must have been such a great adventure. I don't want to deter too much from the Harvard topic but it'd be great to hear more about this, maybe a new thread if needed.
It was interesting seeing the US Marines carrying the aircraft fuselage ashore at Guadalcanal! That would make a great diorama!
When you were in the back with the boredom, as the narrator says, you should have taken some WONZ Show podcasts to pass the time with.
What happened to the B-25? I do not recall seeing it at the AWM in Canberra, or in their storage unit. Is it still flying today?

Sad. So many of these great stories end in sorry tales.

Not so much a Harvard but seriously did like that video "Ghosts of the Sky" also adding the people involved are here and joking away, great thing with a documentary like that is the historical segments as the aircraft traveled across to the Pacific, Just Brilliant

They were supposed to be moving to another facility (I am sure) in California purpose built for them. - bit far off topic?

I am sure Planes of Fame would enjoy that if they move away.

That B.25 could have still bee flying here had the bureaucrats at AWM not interfered with the arrangements that had been made. To make it worse when it was sold off an Australian syndicate bid higher than Yanks but that bid was rejected as they - one particular bureaucrat - did not want the aircraft to remain here.
Ref my post above concerning the BC-2 and Wirraway - can that go back into the Harvard Pile as it is relevant to Harvard.

Thanks Dave, one day I shall be able to sit down over a beer or nine and tell you what happened with that whole tale. "Bored in the back...." ? Try sitting in there when we were flying through the Grand Canyon and hanging onto a huge toolbox lest it depart through the blister.....!
